Really, I feel a little bad getting so angry with this whole situation, so apologies if I came off a little harsh, or as some sort of self-anointed police of the Keyboard Community(tm)
It just gets frustrating watching when a business that has fleeced you appears to get support. And my order is small compared to others, so I can only imagine.
Anyway, be careful of the dog. She gets too excited sometimes and nibbles on noses.

Just an update for those curious:
I've not gotten any responses from Sprit since he emailed me during the drop.
So, it does appear that he was simply trying to temporarily mollify me, and had no intention of shipping my order.

Just an update:
I have not heard from Sprit and he hasn't said a word on Geekhack since January 18th when he tried to get this massdrop going.
Thank you everyone for your support and especially Massdrop for taking this seriously. If you hear from Sprit please let us know.

Regardless of what anyone says, SPRiT's springs are superior to the small amount of alternatives that exist and people will keep buying them whether from retailers of his products or direct. Almost all the alternative springs around are horribly squeaky and even cause friction. I wouldnt start a new build without these springs.

Do you know if anybody has documented the force curves of SPRiT's springs? I haven't had any luck digging through GH/DT/reddit... :/

Thank you for all your feedback. A lot of you have expressed your dissatisfaction with this drop in the discussion and in private messages to us. After a lot of deliberation and input from other members of the Mech Keys team (Brian, Yanbo, Alex, and Kunal), we’ve decided to close this drop.
We take the comments and context given to us by the community extremely seriously. In this case, there are significant outstanding issues and we’ve decided to close the drop. This does not necessarily mean that we would not work with them in the future. Once the vendor makes right on their existing promises to the community and has earned the goodwill of its members, we would be happy to work with them at that time.
I can’t thank you guys enough for being vigilant and keeping us honest. We always love the feedback and the checks and balances that you all provide.
Lastly, for everyone who joined this drop, we’ll work on getting other similar products to you soon.

It really brings into question Massdrop's integrity to be honest. It's well and good saying 'he's promised to sort out years worth of outstanding orders and we're gonna make sure this order goes through without a hitch'..
Have you made any kind of ultimatum, or just taken him at his word? Honestly if it were me I'd do good by the community and demand that any previously outstanding orders are settled (and proved to be settled) before assisting him do business and make money.
From this point forward at the very least I'll be vetting every Massdrop vendor extensively and if there are more cases like this on potential purchases then I'll just stop using Massdrop altogether.

I'm not sure if it's ironic, Massdrop is just the first vendor that's come to my attention in relation to Sprit products. I only posted in response the Massdrop's comment on the matter.

Quick update for those concerned with the vendor of this drop. We have talked with SPRiT and he has let us know that the 40+ orders from the GH group buy will be fulfilled by end of January. We are also working closely to ensure fulfillment of this drop is without issue.
We hope this addresses the concerns and will keep an eye on things to ensure the community is taken care of.

The idea was to pull out the drop before it goes through, or make it fail with more participants... In retrospect I am not sure what this was supposed to achieve. Sprit owes me way too much, so I think I was just doing it out of spite :/
