It’s happening! Thanks to each of you, the drop was a success and we have contacted the vendor for the Spyderco Aqua Salt Fixed Blade and submitted the group’s order. the whole "we are not shipping knives outside the US at this time" bullshit is just pure laziness and profiteering on MASSDROP's part. Any reputable dealer of blades knows where they can and can't ship knives, why not hire someone who is capable of sending out the items that people want?
Why are fixed blade knives not being shipped to Canada? I can understand that customs may be wrongly preventing folders from shipping, on the claim that they are 'assisted opening' knives (which they are not), but come on, there are dozens of online stores shipping fixed blade knives from US to Canada...
Mass drop is not offering prices that make the wait worthwhile. If I really want this knife, I can pay four bucks more and have it delivered today.
Only $4 difference for the best NEW Prices on eBay. :-/

eBay is full of fakes. Granted, FRN handles are harder to make, but we know what Chinese are capable of...

Will this be affected by the international ban on shipping knives?

If only it came with a satin finish.
What is blade thickness? Should it not have a blunt tip for water activities? I like the shape, but it seems like it is more of a camp knife than a dedicated water sport knife.

Spyderco states that it is a tactical blade with H1 steel for "operators" at sea.

Here is a video from spyderco at shot show that explains the knife...

It's not necessarily a dive knife so much as it is a wet use capable knife.

What bothers me is in that video, he says the knife edge is soft out of the box(poor edge retention) until it gets work hardened through sharpening.
Shouldn't their manufacturing process include a step in edge sharpening/forming that works hardens the blade before making it consumer available?
This is like selling an unfinished product.

The edge is not soft. He is speaking in relative terms. I have plenty H1 blades that retain edge very well out of the box.
