This is the first Spyderco I’ve seen that doesn’t have a Name... I mean, I suppose the die-hards would know all the knives by their serial or production numbers but I’m just a little surprised. I won’t ever remember this as ‘The C167GP’. What happened to the Name Guy over at Spyderco? If he has left, I am completely interested in his job! Lemme see...I’ll call this one ‘The SeaLion’...hmm... Drop me a line, Sal (Sorry, Mr. Glesser).
I like friction folders and I like Spyderco, but I don't like the idea of a roughly $100 friction folder even if it is made by Spyderco. VG-10 is a decent steel but for this price point on a friction folder it needs to be something special. If this had a much better steel and/or peel ply carbon fiber scales I might go for it.

I can't believe this is $105 for this generic of a design with basic VG10 blade and G10 handles.

WarkavenUsed to sell for $190+, so at $100 it's a bargain.... your mileage will differ, like all things, you pay for the brand which includes all development, design, production costs etc. Yes it would be nice to pick this up for $20, but it's never gonna happen. Grab one now because I believe it has been discontinued and the price will skyrocket.

Like the blade shape.
Interesting design. Not something I would carry, but an interesting option for those who live in areas with restrictive knife laws on locking blades. Not a bad price either. Only vg10 and g10 but Spyderco's Taichung factory produces some really nice knives with great fit and finish.
