"Note: Due to additional scrutiny and increased seizures at Customs this drop will be limited to members within the US. Quantities are limited to 100 units."
- So is this just a retailer dictated BS excuse to exclude everyone outside the US on this particular knife, or are Massdrop going to stop shipping all knives to all countries outside the US as of now?
AotearoanWonder if anyone tried buying and having it sent to a freight forwarder? Anyone?
I usually use EZBuy but unsure if it would be confiscated by customs.
I'm from Singapore here.
sil3ntscr3amSure, you can get this through a freight forwarder; in New Zealand even NZ Post has their own US forwarding service and there is no reason this knife would ever be confiscated by customs here. Even assisted openers arrive with no hassles.
That's not the point though. Massdrop are using the above excuse to not ship this particular knife outside the US. Yet they seem to be able to ship a whole multitude of other knives, including large fixed blades, assisted openers and other Spydercos. (why would the Spyderco Hundred Pacer dropped today and eligible for shipping to NZ be less likely to get seized by customs??)
I just think the overseas Massdrop community would prefer honesty and transparency regarding what they can and can't buy instead of being treated like idiots with apparently BS notes about customs seizures.
AotearoanDepends where you live I guess. If you're Canadian you might as well get it in Canada since Spyderco has a M.A.P. and the 15$ you save here you'll just pay double in customs anyways.
