For those being so critical of these knives, you obviously are more concerned with looks than quality or value.  Perhaps you should try them before showing lack of knowledge about knives.  I have numerous high quality Japanese and German kitchen knives that don't cut any better.  Are these a $100 or $200 dollar knife?  NO, they are not intended to be.  They are however very good knives at a reasonable price.

TdogI'd think Spyderco's intention was to bring back their line of kitchen knives they use to sell at a reasonable price. At the same time when compared to Victorianox, they share the 'No Frills' mentality and trade that off in order to bring us a blade with better steel or a super easy to clean & sharpen tool.
They recently introduced a kitchen knife is VG-10 with a slick 'Coran' handle for those who value quality and a pretty knife.

SagaraSRoger that, I'm familiar with Spyderco's other kitchen knives as I've been a Spydie nut for years.  I didn't pick up the new VG-10 model as I have all the kitchen knives I could ever use.  Still hoping Spyderco comes out with a Phil Wilson design fillet knife to go with the Southfork and Sprig.  I would buy several of these as gifts for family members.
