Detailed review of the serrated version at

. I have the plastic plain edge version always on me and I've wanted to guy the SS serrated so I was excited to see this show up on MassDrop. But I am very confused as to the price. This has been $35 on Amazon with free shipping for many moons. Where does the MSRP of $74.95 come from? Am I missing something, is there something unique about this MassDrop knife that I'm missing?

BrewerytownThe problem is that right now Spyderco's MSRP on their knives is usually pretty high, from which the dealers take off a large "discount" to get to the real price. After Jan 1 they'll have MAP pricing and that will help that look a lot better. But right now, Massdrop is getting a "discount" from the MSRP, not from the market price on Spyderco knives. That said, they often get a discount as good as other dealers, or sometimes better(see the Positron drop). But in this case, it's not as good. And often if you get one that's roughly the same, it takes a lot longer on here to get the knife.
All that should not be taken as criticism of Massdrop; it's just that MD's model doesn't mesh well with Spyderco's current model. That might get better after Jan 1.
