ok..I'm needing some help here. I've been stuck on the Kershaw blur to give you an idea of what I look for in a knife. I don't currently own any spyderco but I've been strongly considering it. Currently its between a Brous brothers Bionic, this knife and a 150 range ZT. Please help something other than opinions would be great even suggestions 150-200 range thanks everyone.

gojo197zeroI don't own a Bionic, but I have tried one out. The machining was superb and the knife was beautiful. The design itself was totally uncomfortable. Sharp flipper, pointy end that will hurt like a mother if you carry tip up and grab it wrong, and the jimping felt more like serrations. There's a LOT of people that have had such comments about it, but I can tell you that the upside is that the tolerances and detail of the knife balances out the negatives. I feel most of Brous's offerings are slightly overpriced and the quality has diminished as their popularity has risen, but they're still the ones to beat in the semi custom arena.
ZT and Spyderco are both excelent at the 150 price range. If I were you I'd go for a ZT 0350TS (those tiger stripes) or this knife if I waned to save the 40-50 bucks.

sprk1My first Spyderco. Been looking forward to the s35vn blade steel. Of the three blurs I have two of them are s3ov. I like them alot so we'll see about this one. Thanks for the drop.

gojo197zeroYou won't be disappointed. I've got the fluted titanium native 5 and it's a beast. I sharpened it yesterday along with 4 other knifes that needed some love... rest assured it took the wickedest edge of the 5 knifes. The g10 version is a little more usable for EDC :)

sprk1I received today, your right SPRK1. I believe I've found my new edc. Great quality although very stiff it'll loosen up. G-10 makes it lite and doesn't make it CHEAP like the FRN that Spyderco likes to use. So far I really like it.

gojo197zeroOh yes my titanium felt a bit stiff also when I first got it, but a lot of lockbacks that size 'feel' like that in retrospective. That being said not only does it get better and better, the first time you lube it up with some nano oil, tuff glide, or blue lube, you unlock the 'holy shit that's smooth' accomplishment on your knife.

gojo197zeroI used to use tuff glide for both coating the blade and lubing the pivot/locks, but this days I use nano oil for the latter. I still coat all my blades with tuff glide though. Both are excellent products.

gojo197zeroOh and 10 weight is the de facto choice for knives and guns, but I've also used 5w without issues. Get the three pack if it's still available.
