Anonymouse0314For non-US buyers, the Massdrop deal beats online knife stores, because shipping.
However in all fairness, Knifecenter's shipping policy for Canada is bigly reasonable.

BobrazSorry didnt think about non-US buyers. Noted. Hopefully this helps someone in the US or massdrop to take note to offer a little bit of a better deal.

Anonymouse0314I don't get why people keep shitting on massdrop deals, it's not like this site commands the purchasing power of the amazons and walmarts of the world...

minhthemasterSorry if it came off in the wrong way. Just want to provide buyers all the options available. I've purchased from massdrop numerous times and I like their company and what they offer.

BobrazWhile true it is still quite a pill to swallow when this 50 dollar deal ships for 13 dollars (Actually euros) when other spyderco knives shipped for 5. Still, the price including shipping is better than anything you could find in the European union.

FliggiI agree about the shipping price hikes, but to be fair, I've seen this from all shipping organizations, from UPS to FedEx to EML. I think it's a global trend, unfortunately. And remember, Massdrop partners up with external shipping companies, such as Asendia (www.asendia.com) so I assume Massdrop has limited control over shipping price fluctuations.
I'm in Canada and the first time I got a package from Massdrop, I saw that it was marked from Asendia and not USPS, and I got worried I would get additional charges later (like FedEx and UPS; they mail me an invoice for additional fees, which are usually very high). But so far I have had a very, very good experience with Asendia: no additional fees or charges, arrives quickly, etc.
I consider a slightly higher shipping price to be worth it to have ease of mind, and have no surprises later (as long as that remains a small additional cost, like a dollar or two, or three, smaller than a large Starbucks latte coffee!)...

BobrazVery well thought out post. Thank you for replying in such a sensible manner. And I do agree. If it weren't for a very good experience with an eBay vendor with good prices and free shipping I probably wouldn't have said anything ;)
