If shipping to the UK do you post these orders from within the European Union?

Oxford_GuyBoth knives I've had from MD have been shipped from the US. Unfortunately I don't think there's a way round paying the 20% VAT and Royal Mail's admin/handling fee.

Lt.KilgoreIt's also the risk of seizure I'm concerned about, whilst locking knives are legal to own in the UK, it's not usually legal to carry one in public without good reason, which sometimes means they get stopped by customs (even though they shouldn't be, unlike say automatic knives)

Oxford_GuyAhh I see. Well the two I got were both risky in that respect (Kershaw speedsafe assist and an Axis lock) and made it through without problems, but that was just my experience, there's some horror stories online about confiscation and criminal records (all of which I read and wondered "what have I done" when waiting on the shipment). The only other option is £175 at Heinnie Haynes in the UK or Knives and Tools in the EU I guess, which is a £50ish price hike :/
