You can just get the same knife for cheaper on Amazon and with two day shipping if you have Amazon Prime. I've honestly been kind of let down by the knife deals on this site lately.
PapaEmeritusThis has been my EDC for a couple of years now, great knife. I have the benefit of driving by the Spyderco factory regularly (where I bought it), so free sharpening as needed. I really don't understand these prices though... what's the point of ordering it from Massdrop and waiting a month+ to get it when I can order it from Amazon for the same price with free shipping and have it in my hand two days later?
PapaEmeritusI'd like to understand this comment better; I'm not sure if you are taking the pouch / $15 credit into account, or not.
Did you see the part about being able to decline the zipper pouch for a $15 credit, making this the best price by more than 10%? If not, then we should do a better job of highlighting that, because you would not be alone in missing that. If you did, then we need to try offer a more compelling credit that makes our price more attractive.
I do see that at least one seller is violating Spyderco's MAP policy on Amazon, and I expect they will hear from Spyderco soon. We've made this arrangement you see - offering the pouch as a gift with purchase, or option to decline for a credit at checkout - so that we can comply with Spyderco's policy while still delivering members a compelling 'group buy' offer.
If you're not enthused with knife deals generally, there's only me to blame. Offering the absolute best prices on all of the most desirable knives isn't easy, but it's what we aim to do. If you let me know the kinds of things you'd be more excited about, I will surely take that into consideration when talking to vendors and looking for new drops.

JonasHeinemanI did understand everything about the pouch and that I could get $15 dollars credit. That was made clear. And I don't have a problem with any of the knives you've helped to get dropped. They've all been of great quality. I guess my main problem is that we can buy many of these same knives on Amazon or a websites like BladeHQ for the same price without having to wait. Sometimes it can take up to a month or longer to actually get the product from these drops. Don't get me wrong though, I still think you're doing a great job and I've bought many things, especially sharpening stones.
mrvcoSpyderco uses MAP - authorized dealers cannot sell Spyderco product below a certain percentage of the suggested retail price. That is why for some makers you will not get a better deal, so MD uses special offers instead.
