Awesome knife. If it weren't already my EDC I would be buying one. Very tempted to buy a second.

Dr.OetqerActually been thinking about it more in the last few days. I have the S110v version and am finding the steel to be very easy to chip out the edge.

CampCatskillHmmm, that's not how it supposed to be I think. Although the CPM S30V on the PM2 can also chip out if you're not careful. After I had it ones I reshaped and sharper my edge, no problems whatsoever anymore.

Dr.OetqerYeah, never had that problem on any of my S30V or S35VN knives. This S110V on the paramilitary chipped in two different spots on the blade. I sent it over to the AposleP for professional sharpening and a day after I got it back, chipped again while opening a cardboard box. the S110v is supposed to be a superior steel but in my experience, i haven't found it to keep a good utility edge, not due to dulling, but due to being prone to chipping. Yeah I think an S30V Paramilitary 2 is in my future.

CampCatskillYeah man, that's really messed up. I only had it ones with the S30V, as I do remember after handing it over to a friend. Haha. After restoring the edge it never happened again though, and now it's working like a charm.

CampCatskillS110V is glass hard. It's a very very abrasion resistant steel, but it doesn't have much toughness to speak of. As a result, it does not roll at all, it breaks out or chips.
Chippy s110v is pretty common. It's not made to be used to cut into anything hard.

PigmonkeYYep Pig, exactly my thoughts on the S110V. Just pulled the trigger on the S35VN paramilitary 2 currently dropping. Hopefully that'll solve my chipping issues haha. Now do I sell the 110 version or keep it? Even with the chippy steel, it's still my favorite EDC.

CampCatskillIf you're going to cut relatively soft high abrasion materials, s110v is a decent choice. I guess if you do nothing but cut rope all day?

PigmonkeYHaha, I hope you meant that to be as tongue-in-cheek as it came across.
