Sounds sketchy to me. I'll pass. There's a lot of fakes on the market and I don't see any reason for anyone to be selling this model for a discount considering the demand for them.

muckypopsI'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Massdrop deals directly with the vendor and not re-sellers. It looks like Spyderco has a bit of history with Massdrop as well. They may have taken a liking to our EDC community and give us particularly good deals (thus the very limited quantities on all of their knife drops). Also, it's only $25 less than Amazon, KnifeCenter, and other sellers. I guess I'm just trying to say that it doesn't seem all that sketchy to me, but I guess we'll see once I get my hands on it.
Update: Upon receiving the knife, it does appear to be a legit Spyderco (at least to my eye). The skeletonizing of the liners, outline detailing on the logo, G-10 shaping, packaging, and blade finishing is all consistent with Spyderco specs. This is my first knife utilizing CPM S30V, so I can't speak to the type of steel used. It'll be a while until the blade needs sharpening anyway, I'm pretty easy on my blades and tend to switch them out every other week or so.
muckypopsIts not much of a discount and I can tell you the ones in the pic are 100%real deal
