JureczkiHave to be a little careful buying a PM2 from Amazon. This is probably the most counterfeited knife in the world, and Amazon has been known to sell fakes from time to time (even from Amazon itself, and the odds go up even more if it's from another seller through Amazon).
ExDementiaI didn't say this was the best possible price available--just that Amazon isn't necessarily the safest comparison for buying a PM2. Most likely, you'd be fine if purchasing direct from Amazon. But there have been a few cases documented on some of the knife-enthusiast forums where that wasn't the case and people got fakes, even from Amazon itself.
pedariusSorry, didn't mean to imply that you were saying that, just adding to your comment that you can buy from Spyderco themselves through Amazon, rather than another seller, and also that their price is better than the drop here.
ExDementiaI was going to bring up the bargains on the net but you guys beat me to it. I love Massdrop and I'll forever be a loyal customer. I think at the end of the day if the Procurement folks can go back to the table and knock off another $5 or keep the price but with better steel or exclusive customization then this would be a bargain. Heck just throw in an autograph from the knife designer or personal inscription. 😀
JureczkiRealize that the idea is that you delete the carrying case (which no one really wants) and the knife is now $113.99 and no tax. A pretty sweet price I think.
ExDementiaFWIW - "By Spyderco" doesn't mean that Spyderco is the seller here, or ever on this site - the link that you gave shows Amazon is selling this directly, and that they are selling it for $2 less than Spyerdco's MAP price. I expect that is something Spyderco will contact them about. Regardless, the difference here would be the complimentary case or $10 credit if you choose that instead. There's a lot more discussion about this topic earlier in the thread, and a full discussion of Spyderco's MAP policy on their blog.
BobrazThere is no possible way to get a custom PM2 into production any earlier than 2018, based on current orders. Other models might be feasible, that's definitely something we can look into. Stay tuned...
JonasHeinemanAwesome, I hope you guys will look into it! You can use my poll to have an idea of which models are wanted by fans here. In fact, **any** Spyderco exclusive would be welcome and sell like hot cakes wrapped in delicious coating!
