Judging from the age of these comments, it's been a while since the last drop. I'm curious what members think of this knife nowadays. Anyone have experience with the steel? I didn't think a steel "comparable" to VG-10 was considered a "supersteel". This also seems like a very competitive price for a Spidey titanium folder, and quite a bit cheaper than the previous drop

BknguyenI love Bohler 690 (Fox knives, Extrema Ratio) but it's premium steel not ultra premium or super steel (my own research etc etc). I still laugh when M390 is said (here) to be easy to sharpen et. al. or other comparisons I've seen on knife steels that are above the normal. Nice enough looking blade but if it doesn't lock in place then it's a SAK to me and I already have a good one and I don't even use that blade (emergency or fairly lite work). Just my opinion...hehe

TRexSrIt's locked into place by your holding the handles but unlocked as soon as you let go. Far more secure than any other 'non-locking- knife I've encountered.

BarryOI can’t say for sure but I am betting it’s upgraded steel. Bohlër 690 is much better than vg10 imo but will take a little more work for that edge. I own s35 (FF from MassD), Spyderco vg10, Bastion D2, Klecker Sandvik 13cr (I think it is), 12cr Sak, Bohlër 690 (Fox ASLR), 420hc Gerber LMF II and Guardian, 8cr13mov Kershaws and a Schrade. Maybe it’s the grind or whatnot but that Bohlër would shave hair off of hair. My 2nd sharpest blade would be a toss up between the D2 flipper and the VG10 Spyderco. My FF flipper from MD (Falcon) is fairly sharp but I think the edge is a wee bit less of an angle for the grind and as such would probably fair better for use as it is a more superior blade.
