I've never used a "wave" myself, but man that hook looks aggressive, no? Hope your jeans are sturdy.

KavikThe little hook is for one hand opening, it’s called an Emerson hook ( with knife in pocket point down pull it out, catch the hook on your pocket & flip it open 👍

miked243Yeah, just saying this one looks more aggressive (for lack of a better word) than most I've seen.... Looks like it could mangle fabric over time

miked243No, It's called an "Emerson Wave" feature ™. How to Use the Emerson Wave Feature It will not destroy fabrics. The Clip is more likely to do damage to fabrics than the Wave feature. Been using this feature for years on Emerson's with good results.

GotLumensGlad to hear you've had no issues with yours, but there are plenty of complaints out there of wave features damaging pants. Again though, some appear to be designed more or less aggressively than others, depending on the maker and the model
