It’s interesting to see so many people commenting on Massdrop’s pricing of Spyderco products. We all know, by now, Spyderco uses MAP pricing. We also know how Massdrop uses the “no case discount“ To help Massdrop customers.
Yet, we have all these “super shoppers” trying to tell me that it’s the same price on Amazon, or the wait is not worth it, or how Massdrop is deceiving people and not offering value.
Have any any of these shoppers even seen or touched any of these products? That’s what this forum can really contribute to their readers. Tell us about your personal experience with these products.
I can do my own price checks. And I can tell you if it’s worth it to me to wait a few weeks to save almost 10% on my purchase. If I know how to use Massdrop, I also know how to use Amazon.
Just tell me what you truly know about these products. Okay? Thanks.

DeLucaPretty sure most those people don't even read the description to see about the case discount. They just want to come to the comments and let everyoune know they're "too smart to get tricked". Also amazing how many people don't realize that the Taiwan factory is Spydercos best factory and makes the most desirable and highest quality knives.

DeLucaI love this knife. Best pocket knife I've ever owned in my life. Jlhenry55 is spot on about the Taichung factory. Carry it with me everywhere I go. And I bought it on Massdrop over a year ago. There, told you about the product. That being said, I personally find it valuable when people give a heads' up about a lower price. I can certainly do my own price checks, as you can, but (a), others might find something I haven't — there are many more sites than just Amazon out there, and (b), somebody mentioning a lower price might get me interested in an item I wasn't even considering before. People certainly talk about their experiences with the products here too. We can do *both* — it doesn't hurt anyone. :)

Jlhenry55Taiwan factory is better then the Colorado factory? I don't have any spyderco knives from Taiwan. Colorado, Japan and China. I'm impressed with my Native 5 and am intrigued that this knife could possibly have better quality

Gunnersmate2The quality of this knife is near-absolute. I've owned hundreds of knives from around the world for decades and have never seen a production knife like this one before. I've carried and used it every day for years and it still looks and feels brand new. It's the only blade I've ever owned that I can give a perfect "10."

WigdaddyJust signed up on spyderco's website and learned I receive 50% off most knives because I'm a veteran. Granted a lot of knives are out of stock or limited runs for specific outlets but there are still a few to choose from.

WigdaddyYa it's an awesome discount. Most places offer 20% max, if I'm lucky, but its usually 10% anything helps.

Gunnersmate2Might have something to do with the fact that they're located in Colorado Springs, or just outside of it anyway. I lived there for many years and veterans' discounts abound because of all the military bases there.
