Spyderco has long been a favorite in the EDC community, and this drop highlights six of the company’s most popular folders—all souped-up with premium ZDP-189 steel and striking, British racing-green handle scales. On the small end of the spectrum , you'll find the Ladybug and Manbug, which are compact enough to be clipped to a keychain or comfortably carried in a fifth pocket on a pair of pants. For something a little larger, there's the Dragonfly 2 (base price), which has a slightly more aggressive shape. The Stretch 2 is still larger, measuring 8.2 inches overall. Of course, there are a couple classics available as well. For a little more, you can get the signature Delica or Endura, two EDC icons. All knives are armed with a reliable back lock and open by way of the Spyderco thumb hole.
Note: At checkout, you'll have your choice from the following models: Dragonfly 2 (base price), Ladybug (- $30), Manbug (- $20), Delica (+ $20), Endura (+ $30), or Stretch 2 (+ $45). Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
Hailed as a super steel, ZDP-189 is a powdered metal manufactured by Hitachi in Japan. As opposed to the standard process of manufacturing steel, powdered metallurgy starts with raw elements in powdered form, thus creating a more uniform and refined microstructure. ZDP-189 features a Rockwell hardness rating of around 64, far harder than most steels on the market, which means it will retain an edge much longer. It’s capable of being hardened to 65-67 HRC without chipping, too—a testament to its impressive chemical makeup. Composed of 3 percent carbon and 20 percent chromium, it’s also one of the most corrosion-resistant steels ever produced.
