It is disheartening whrn the FQ's are only 21" wide instead of 22". The standard was 22" for years, and now it seems most vendors are using 21". I am reluctant to order when only 21" are offered. Would LOVE it if it changed back! :) Just a comment ...

sewsjanYes, the width of the fabric (44") hasn't changed, so where is the wasted 2" going? All manufacturer pre-cuts I buy elsewhere, as well as FQ's cut by small fabric shops on Etsy, are still 18x22!

EpidendronHi @Ivybobivy & @Epidendron,
We cut the majority of our fat quarter bundles and most of our cuts end up being slightly larger then 21". We can confidently guarantee each piece will be 21" so we list that dimension . This allows for some wiggle room on fabrics that are not folded perfectly straight coming off the bolt. Hope that helps explain it!
