G-skiiiLiberty are overpriced safes that are glorified gun lockers, fine to protect for the casual smash and grab but I wouldn't put anything extremely valuable in one. Sturdy Safe offers the best bang for your buck for no frills security with serious penetration protection that only someone prepared with the proper tools would be able to penetrate with a good amount of time.
Meh, I have one of their "National Classic Plus" models for my guns and then in the bottom of that I have two Biometric Smartvaults. Also have a few SmartVaults around the house, they seem to work fine for me. I had a buddy who purchased this brand and hated life. I went over to try it out and understood why he disliked it so much. No complaints with my Liberty safes over here though.
I do reside in Texas and can get better deals than on them though, so I understand when people say they are too high in price.
Before buying this or any Chinese made personal safe, watch the videos on handgunsaferesearch dot com. He hasn't review this exact safe, but it has all the hallmarks of the type of safe that can be opened by a curious teenager with a paperclip. In fact there are several youtube videos showing how to do it, so if you have a kid old enough to watch a youtube video then your kid can get into this safe. I would not use if for firearms with kids in the house. Hell when I was a kid I remember us all teaching each other how to crack combination padlocks just for fun. A safe like this is hardly a challenge. Nevermind the tubular lock which you can crack with a bic pen. Also people here and on Amazon have had trouble with the biometric lock. So you might find yourself with a safe that you can't get into in an emergency, but your 11 year old can get into whenever he wants.
If you are storing a firearm, go with a reputable made in USA brand like Liberty Safe for biometric or Ft. Knox for mechanical pin-code. Beware though that mechanical pin-code locks can be easily brute force cracked by trying all the combinations, given enough time, so they're pretty good for burglars but if your kid can get easy access to the place the safe is stored, they can sit there and try all the combos.
Has anyone been able to get theirs to work reliably? So far 3 have not performed as advertised. The first wouldn't accept a print for programming at all. The second and the replacement are both very resistant to recognize a programmed print. They work, maybe, once in twenty attempts.
So how do i send this paperweight back and get refunded? Took a half hour to finally get a fingerprint recorded and 9 out of 10 times doesnt accept the fingerprint to open.
