These are all over ebay for $3 or $4 and you can even get them in actual titanium for a few dollars more. This is a Very bad deal.

NerysThere's a lot of info in this thread about those knockoffs and how they're different from this product (TLDR they're junk and not worth your money).

IanAndersonHuh. I never bought one of the stainless ones but i have had A titanium one for a couple years now. Zero issues or complaints. Works fine finish is fine quality looks fine. No pitting no rough edges etc..
Its a comb. It cost me $6 iirc and its titanium (not sure if its real titanium but its not steel or aluminum and its strong as hell and crazy light and seems to jive with known bits of titanium i have.
I have no doubt this one is superior and the original and i do like usa made (though today that usually means machine made and few employees. But man $40 for a comb. Ouch. I even balked at the $6 for the one i got but justified it for the novelty of the titanium.
My favorite comb is still the violet wood ox horn comb i got off ebay. That one looks and feels great and was $12 ouch..
If the owner wants to send me one to side by side review i will gladly do so and even return it when i am done. It would be interesting to see the differences. I am open minded.

NerysPic of your violet wood ox horn comb please.
NerysNerys, thanks for your message. The comb you're describing is a knockoff of the original Chicago Comb design (design patent pending). Not just bad quality but a ripoff of Chicago Comb's intellectual property. A little bit like this home-made Lamborghini.

JL2015Well that is a topic i will have to avoid. I dont believe a patent on something like this is valid. There is nothing new or novel about it. Its a slab of metal with comb tines and a finger hole.
Dont get me wrong. I thinks yours looks beautiful and is certainly better made and finished. But it should not be permitted a patent. Not only that but I have seen combs like this more than 20 years ago. I had one as a child. Nearly identical to this but made of plastic. It is one of the reasons i bought the titanium one. It was a spitting image of my childhood comb.
NerysThanks for your reply Nerys. If you have a photo of that comb from 20 years ago, we would love to see a photo, as we've never seen anything like our Model 1 design (apart from the recent copycat combs).
On a lighter note, this conversation is a little bit reminiscent of the recent news stories about the iPhone supposedly spotted in a 350-year old painting :)

JL2015I will check my pictures but the chances are extremely slim. Its a comb and i was a teenager and family photos were not a thing for us (to my great sadness) I remembered it only because i loved the finger hole as i could twirl it around my finger. It might have been even more than 20 years as i remeber it and the grand canyon which would put me more at 10 or 12 or almsot 30 years ago. But there is no way to know if that is one or two seperate memories.
I will tell you this. While i dont like the way our patent system is broken i do like us companies. If i find something i will send it to you non publicly so it cant be used to hurt you.
