The Munchkins are back—and this time, they’re in space! In this iteration of the best-selling Munchkin series, a satirical card game based on Dungeons & Dragons and other RPGs, players must grab their laser swords, fight cyborgs and aliens, and take all the loot they can find. You’ll meet mutants, androids, and cat people among the stars; fanged fuzzballs, bionic characters, and brains in jars. This bundle includes the Deluxe Edition, which comes with a board and standies, plus two expansions and two booster sets for even more door-kicking fun.

In The Clown Wars, you’ll go ray-gunning for new monsters (like Nerds of Prey), play a new class (like Space Ranger), discover the new Rooms card type, and do it all with Ralph the Wonder Dog by your side. The Diplomatic Impunity expansion introduces Ships cards, plus a new class called Ambassador, a new race called Veggie, and more. Throw in the Space Ships booster set to ride in the Horsefly, the Starfurry, or the USS Secondprize, and use the Cosmo Demo deck as a quick-rigged demo to get your friends into the madness.

In Munchkin games, there are two types of cards: Treasures and Encounters. On his or her turn, each player “kicks down the door” and draws an Encounter card from the deck. Often, this involves battling a monster, which you can try to overcome using the levels, weapons, and powers you’ve acquired during the course of the game—or be forced to run away. Other players can help or hinder you by adding extra monsters to the mix. Defeat the monster, and you’ll get to draw Treasure cards and acquire levels. Lose, and there’s plenty of bad stuff in store.
