I mean it is Star Wars. Great to see quality build vs. most mass produced board games. May not be everyone's cup of blue milk - but definitely recommend it if you like games and Star Wars.
Excellent presentation, very well made components in an efficient storage. The Rebels and Imperials play very differently. Very fun game, not like traditional Risk at all, other than the dice roll to attack. It is great for two or more players. Full of fun planing attacks with your family or friends.
This is a great game but don't think of the game Risk when you buy this game. It's not like the classic Risk game at all but is totally fun in it's own unique way. The pieces are detailed and well made. This should be in any Star Wars fan's collection and those that like strategy (with the luck of the dice coming into to play too). My kids and I have replayed this game dozens of times and still find it fun. It's a good 20-30 minutes of good game play each time. Learning how to play the game was pretty straight forward too. I hope you enjoy this as much as we have!
Game is very well made pieces look great. Game play was fun but not Risk at all. Not a balanced game play experience, Rebels win often. The only reason I give it a 4 is the game play is a little contrived and the Rebels are almost always the winner. For someone into the pieces almost as much as the game I would say this is worth it at 25 - 35 bucks. Though I can't see me replaying this too often.
My nephew and I very much enjoy this game. It's a 1v1, it's quick, it's fun. Games are usually 30-45 minutes if you think too much, but once we got it down were about 25-30 mins. The real issue I have with it is that it's not really balanced well for new players. Rebels generally wipe the board with the Empire, unless the Empire does one particular tactic. This is fine, now that we've played thru it 3 times, though. My nephew (11yo) loved it.
Good game for 2-4 people. Played about 7 games in a couple days with 3 people - we teamed up 2v1 and the games were pretty balanced and fun. Looking forward to a 2v2. The game moves quick compared to most other Risk series games I've played, and the card mechanic is fun and keeps both teams guessing.
Loved this game! Went by a lot faster than I originally had planned.
We created 2 teams with 3 people on each. Everyone dressed up either as Jedi or Sith, it was a blast! though I don't recommend adding additional players to the teams.
Fun, quick, 2-person game. Not as much strategy as traditional Risk as its all based on what cards you draw. The only area where 'strategy' really comes into play is ship generation and movement. The battles for Endor and in the Throne Room are a novel concept that help you from getting bogged down in troop movement and attacking (the backbone of traditional Risk) and help keep the game moving.
Play is slightly skewed towards the Rebels, but overall it's a great quick play. Got it for $22, would have probably paid up to $30 for it.
My box DID come slightly damaged from shipping, which sucks since alot of the appeal of the "Black Series" is the packaging. Also, the Millenium Falcon, Death Star, and Destroyer are cheap plastic rather than metal. My destroyer actually has a bent 'nose' :(
