Big-AlYou are so right. The toms on "Lateralus" are so damn visceral. Amazing album, amazing value in headphones.
One thing I will note. My pair had the female 3.5mm jack where the headphones connect go loose. It would not grip the cable without the lock engaged. Sure, the cables lock, but I like to use custom cables. So, I modded the cup to accept a metal 3.5mm female jack. WAY more durable than the plastic piece of junk that was inside (and believe me, it was JUNK). It was a proper upgrade to these phones.

Big-AlThanks for the BlackFriday coupon...it really is a hell of a deal. With the HD One cables + CB-1's, it came out to be $71 after shipping ($3.99 standard ships in 6-9 days). You get it faster, and it's cheaper than this drop (for headphones alone + shipping in the US, it's around $63 from Massdrop...and ships May 2nd I believe).

spiritofjerryYou are correct, these need to be taken care off. The port hole on the can and the faux leather on the headband will wear out if not super careful. Not the kid of cans you can just play rough with. But that is why they are so low cost. Cheap materials but huge sound quality.
If you need a better build set of cans, spend a little more and get the ATH-M40X + HM5 PADS. More money, but better built and will stand some abuse.

Also so these are one of the most comfortable closed back headphones I have ever tried. Those pads are soft and lush. Everytime I touch the pads I look around me to see if anyone noticed the arousal my fingers just received. The pleather is that soft and the memory foam that cushiony.
If if you want closed back headphones, with clear, clean, and precise low end without sacrificing mids or highs, these are the cans.

The only cans in this price range that give it a run for its place are the M40x's, but only after you replace the pads with HM5's Angled Sheepskin or Pleather. So that's $100+$40, this are $54.99-$60 and need nothing!
Get them, if this deal is not good for you because of shipping, customs, international , etc, just get them from Status Audio. When you sign up at their website they give you a 15% coupon to use. And you get them in a few days.

PS: the cable bundle they sell for their HD headphones works with these. Get it for $10. You get two nice flat cables, one of them black with mic+1, the other one is flat and red color. Very nice cable. Work with all my other 3.5mm jack headphones.
