hmm, I have a pair of the SteelSeries H Wireless (what these were originally before they rebranded their entire headphone lineup to the Siberia series) and they still work just great. I don't treat them like crap though, I tend to be very delicate with any of my expensive gear. I did stretch the headband also as the clamp was initially too tight and the headband stretched with no issues (gotta stretch it by the middle metal part, not the extension part). I did also replace the pads with the brainwavz HM5 velour pads because I didn't find the stock pads to be comfortable/thick enough.
Sound quality wise, don't expect it to match $300 headphones like an HD 600 or even the K7XX because you definitely do pay for the wireless and other features it comes with along with the DAC/AMP box. It's not bad however (I'd put it on par with M50X). All being said, I don't think there's another truly 100% wireless headset on the market. Most of the others will die in long gaming sessions and then you're plugged in (which would be a no no for those really needing a wireless headset. For those who don't mind, you're better off with a wired headset in the first place). With this, each battery lasts a long time (10-20 hrs) and if it runs out, you just swap the battery and you're good to go. You're virtually wireless all the time.
I've had mine for a couple of years now and although I don't use it as much as I used to, when I first got it, I've used it on a daily basis for long periods of time (6+ hrs/day) and there's no sign of anything cracking (I've even dropped it accidentally on my porcelain tile floor once). It's possible that quality has dropped since they rebranded the line, but it honestly looks identical and I can't see anyone snapping the fairly thick headband without some sort of accident or abuse.
