RelampagoA car window is much more difficult to break in the situation you would need to the most— underwater. Seconds are extremely precious as the car fills with water and it takes time to get in position to kick through it. A glass breaker is a wise thing to leave in your vehicle.
I would get it myself if I didn't already own a charger and glass breaker + belt cutter separately.

ronCYATrue that...but, this product is exorbitantly more expensive than buying a hammer, a knife, and a car charger for your phone. I see how it's compact, and it *seems* like it would work, and work well, but its more of a novelty or a trinket than anything. Until that rain comes around in San Diego. Jeez, you'd think people would know to drive slower on slippery, wet roads.

Arker_1Exorbitant is a gross overstatement. I for one think that this is a great deal. I would want some quality items if I was trusting my life with them, and a knife alone would cost you more than this drop. Also, not every accident can be avoided. Even if I do everything in my power to protect myself, I'm still at the mercy of other drivers on the road. So why not have this "trinket" to make it safer for me?

Arker_1It's really not that expensive and everything is held together in one small easy to use item. Plus if your car is small you won't be able to get the hammer up to speed fast enough to break the glass while the vehicle is underwater. Trust me the external pressure applied to the window is enough to compensate for the hammer's swing, especially with the decreased range of motion.
About $20 on Amazon give or take, depends on if the price changes (I didn't even know Massdrop ever made a drop for this till I posted this comment, but I have owned one since about 6 months before I posted this comment): https://www.amazon.com/Ztylus-Stinger-Emergency-Escape-Tool/dp/B01N3D4J58/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500887733&sr=8-1&keywords=car+charger+glass+breaker
