silasioWe research competitive pricing of every item, on every drop before they launch. If we missed the mark on this, please let us know by posting a link and we'll see what we can do - we always want members to get the best available price.

JonasHeinemanPlease provide documentation of somebody selling the least expensive of these knives for $125.
Even on the company website they're only charging ~$65 for similar knives.
I don't doubt that you do due diligence in determining what price you will charge, but to suggest that you're offering a 60% discount is so misleading and dishonest.

silasioIt's not uncommon for people to conflate MSRP with market/street/competitive price. We list the MSRP because that is a static figure determined by the manufacturer, but - as you know - competitve prices vary widely across other sites.
Your original statement was that the MSRP is incorrect; if you see that it's listed by the manufacturer (or consistently by other reputable sellers) as being lower, I will gladly review that and adjust as necessary. If your issue is that you feel MSRP is not a good benchmark against which to indicate the discount, I will pass that along to the product team, but it would be nearly impossible to use disparate and constantly-changing market prices as the value against which a percentage discount is listed.
As you an see in many, many discussions here on Massdrop, including this one, members often research market prices and share them here when they feel a drop price isn't low enough to be compelling or even competitive. Rather than scrub these comments, which are sometimes substantiated with accurate links and sometimes not, we leave them on the site so members can inform each other - and us - when we have missed the mark.
I appreciate your time and diligence and hope this helps to clarify. Your concerns are valid and I'm always happy to talk about pricing so we can keep offering the best prices on everything we list.
