An elegant design. However, Cascade Wild table http://cascadewild.com/ is larger, lighter, and less expensive.

ClamGunTrue and it works for most things. I have made something similar and worked with that material in other applications over the years. It's not fragile but I'd advise packing it carefully because it isn't hard to crease it with moderate pressure, on either axis. Definitely not as good as a cutting board unless you undo it and lay it totally flat, and don't put a hot pot right from the stove on it by accident. Several good mini table/stand options out there including the tree-hanging type but I think Saluk 46 came up with a winner here overall. Would be nice to have a slightly larger model as an option, though.

ClamGunFrom what I have told to me by folks that have bought them, the CW table will melt if you put a hot cup/pot onto it.
There are always going to be trade offs, but not sure I would want my table melting on me, after having just taken my cup/pot off my stove.

DannyMilksI know, really. Who would have thought of that... make a hiking table that hikers are going to put hot cups/pots onto, out of plastic or some such thing.

abelaI just tested a piece of coroplast, similar to what the CW table is made of. I placed one of my hiking pots, filled with boiling water, directly on it. After one minute I could see a slight mark but no loss of structural integrity. I don't worry about eating a hot meal off my CW table.

ClamGunI make the Cascade Wild table and feel compelled to reply to the comment about the table melting. The melting point of coroplast is 324 degrees fahrenheit, so you can pour boiling water directly on the table to no ill effect - I know, I tested it during the design phase. If you took a red-hot pot off a stove and set it immediately on the table, that might be a problem. But that's not what the table is designed for - it's sized to fit a canister stove with legs, coffee mug, or plate. With every order I email the customer personally with a no-questions money back guarantee and I have not received one single complaint or comment about the table being damaged by heat. I'm not the one who made the original Cascade Wild comment and I would never comment on a post to promote my table, but in this case I do feel the need to defend against inaccurate information.
