Its a nice power bank and I have had no problems charging the batteries. Its a bit heavy to carry but its good to use when you're not near a power source to charge your battery.
funny that someone returned it because the package said the battery was 800 mah. The battery says it’s 1000 mah . 14 watt works great makes power in the shade
I used this once when the power went out and it charged the phone to about 70% in an hour which is better than I had expected. It also must have arrived charged because it was a cloudy day when I used it. I'd definately recommend it.
I'm not sure what's going on with my power bank but it will NOT charge and play my small bluetooth speaker I bring into work. The charging was so weak on the battery that the speaker died. Changing it to a regular plug in charger let me play and charge at the same time. I haven't had any problems with charging my phone but dont expect this to charge much from the sun or power anything more than a cell phone. (Low Wattage model. Should have opted for the better wattage? Doubt it would work though.)
The speaker issue really is a bummer and the sole reason I got the battery because plugging my bluetooth speaker into an outlet is really difficult as I work construction and I'm always on the move.
Also, I charged this bank in direct sunlight and it did NOT charge to full capacity. 6 hours in direct overhead sunlight did nothing.
Save your money and get an Anker power bank on amazon or something else. Something that actually WORKS.
BReid6Are you trying to run a BT speaker directly from the 5w panel, or are you using a battery (which comes with the 14w and 20w panels). What is the power draw of your speaker? This is a straightforward math problem - if the speaker draws more power than the panel provides, then the battery will not charge and will eventually be depleted. (Think of trying to fill a bathtub at a slow trickle while the water runs out the drain)
If you're trying to run the speaker straight from a 5w panel, then the problem is not that it “doesn’t work” but that you’re trying to use it for something that it was not designed. Chances are that your BT speaker requires more power to operate than the 5w panel is capable of producing (less than 1 amp at 5v). Does that BT speaker have a battery?
What BT speaker are you using?
Outstanding item, I got mine with two batteries and I use it constantly On the dash of my vehicle to keep items charged for day hikes, as well as on my kayak for boating trips and my tent on camping trips, its kept my camera, phone, GPS, headlamp and flash light charged as well as running lights at night, as well as charging an electric cigarette lighter that SunJack also offers! Mine has worked from day one without problem and I have even gone direct to SunJack for other products they offer.
