This tester is so helpful. I used to prefer CherryMX tactile Clear, but now am in love with Kailh Box Jade and Navy. Couldn't have found these beauties if I didn't buy it. Pricey ($55 then) but no regrets.
I might use this for my keycaps
What I'd love is a switch tester that is also a working keyboard, and I'd gladly pay more for it. That would make it useful, once I've done testing, instead of sitting on a shelf.

While it's not exactly what you're looking for, the Ducky Shine 4 69 Fire has 9 different switches. Not a switch tester per se, but definitely the most variety I've seen on a stock board.

I see no reason you can't hook up a pro micro and wire this thing up!
I just posted on a discussion for a Halo switch, and then noticed that the drop had ended, so I thought it might not get read, so I decided to copy it here since I also talked about this item in my post. I hope that's ok. It's difficult to tell from verbal descriptions of these and other switches what they are going to be like in actual use. I was thinking of buying the 63 key switch tester that Massdrop is offering, but I am not much of an experimenter and I would probably only use it once and then it would become a $40 dust collector. People here seem to have a lot of experience with many different key switch brands and flavors so I thought somebody might be able to help me out here and maybe save me some time and money on my constant quest. What I am looking for are switches that are easy to press, allow me to feel a click before they bottom out, and are extremely quiet. The most important part of this to me is the quiet. I would like their silence to be so deafening that it can drown out a jackhammer six feet away, but I know nothing that moves is going to be truly silent. I just want to get as close to that as I can. I have three 84 key mechanical keyboards so far and although I like them all, I don't feel like I am getting close to my ideal yet. I have NIZ Capacitive, Cherry MX Reds, and Gateron Browns. I have dampened the reds and browns with silicone O rings but they are still quite noisy in my world, especially on the up stroke. I think that overall, the NIZ feels the best and may also be the least noisy. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You're a meanie.

Either standard rubber dome or shell out for a factory silenced topre board.
Come on, Massdrop. You're helping to sell it and there's not even Halo True / Halo Clears on there? Disappointed.
Fyi, kbdfans just released a new 72-switch tester w/ switch type printed on each keycap: https://kbdfans.cn/collections/switches-tester/products/kbdfans-72-switches-tester-all-in-one
yohannes
ugggghhh so bummed I didn't get that instead.
nosson
Yeah. Same here. Will sell it once I receive the new one.
Are the Zealios switches v1 or v2?

Yes, and I asked ZealPC recently about the Kbdfans 4x5 Tactile Switch tester, but that one only has v1, too. So I ordered ZealPC's v2 sample pack and installed its switches into the Kbdfans tester: It's indeed a tremendous difference. v2 switches (Zealios as well as Zilents) have really nice bump and are much more like Outemu Skies (v2.2, don't know any other variants) or Kailh Box Royals.
XTaran
I filled a board with Zelios v2 (62g) and I'm really liking them. Whenever I try a new switch for a couple weeks, I go back to my AEK-I board (orange alps). This is the first cherry switch that I've preferred over that board. I wish I had bought the 65g switches for comparison - but I did pick up the sample pack too.
It looks pretty good.
Can this be alternatively used as a switch mod station?
This should be supplied to stores like mediamarkt and paradigit. € 40 ,- for a key switch tester that you will probably use one time is stupid. There are tons of people like me that want to go to a store like paradigit or mediamarkt that want to test out key switches.

I kind of wish it existed though. It would be nice if you could interest your local computer store, but it probably wouldn't go world-wide unless they invest a lot of money in it or wait a long time.

I plan on using this as more of an Avon sampler for when I try to get people to come to the dark side.
What thickness is the plate? is it the full 2.5cm everywhere and the switches are press fitted or is it 1.5mm as the switches expect and are made for?
hampusk
And if they are press fitted. Does this have a noticeable impact on feel?
Looks like this slipped its est. ship date. Has there been any update from the vendor?
Just an FYI KPRepublic has an 81 switch tester exactly like this for $40 and a 130 switch tester for $50 shipped from Chiiiiiina.
poodude
No Zeals on any of the ones from KPRepublic though fwiw
What is the point of this drop? I get it in 14 days for the smaller price directly from kbdfans...
myyrddraal
Said out of stock when I checked.
Pretty sure KBDfans is cheaper for Canadians
If you want it now go to kbdfans and they sell it there for $10 more.

Thank you.
Not even alps/alps clone switches smh
Got mine today, stuck in customs for more than three weeks, but well packed and nothing loose. Quick mockup for myself, which some may like to use.

Cheers
Should I have received it by now? I haven't yet.
Anyone have a link where I could buy all the razer switches? I know they sell a tester with 3 but what about the newest purples?
What the heck happened? This drop was supposed to be open until July 5th, and here it is July 5th 1:30 am (same timezone as Massdrop -- US west coast) and all I see is "Drop Inactive". Did this get closed early for some reason?
gwideman
Just in case you're still interested, it's open as of now.
Just got mine. It was worth it just to have a chance to realize how awesome Zealios and Aliaz switches feel like, and I'm a clicky switches guy.
Just a reminder: This is 40 euro for the tester + 20 euro import duties = 60 euro in total for Europeans. Would be nice to know beforehand.
Meowzen
That sounds about right. On massdrop total cost for me was 48$. I'm counting on another 20% VAT tax, so in the end it 48$+9.6$. Good thing it's under 50€ so I don't get 10% customs fee and then 20% VAT on top of that. But still it's uncertain, maybe customs decides to apply customs fee also, than I can expect total cost of 64$, yeah awesome. And still customs woes do not end for me there . Customs officer can by his own judgment decide that the worth of the tester is 100$ and then I could be paying 10% customs tax and 20% VAT tax on top of that so that could be 48$+ 32$ of customs tax and VAT. All of this racks up the price for us in Europe, but still it's better than ordering outside Massdrop because through normal retail shipping is sometimes 50$ alone :(
BOX Royal?
Krasztest
BOX Royal switches were introduced to market after this product came out. I guess they did not bother to include them in the tester. Shame, this tester has a lot of places for other unique switches insteal of all those duplicate Cherry switches.
A few switches came off for mine. I tried my best to put it back to match the picture. Is there a way to identify them by type/maker. Unfortunately they come off easy.
steve.v
Kbdfans on Amazon sells this and has a map as an image on the listing.
A Topre or a buckling spring would have been asking for too much, but no ALPS style switches?
hyperlinked
This is just a switch tester for the switches that KBDFans sells. They don't carry Matias switches.
Got mine, re-ordered to my taste.

They should really make an additional PCB for this. Would be a sick Macro Board
Just received this...it was shipped in just a bubble mailer so about 90% of them fell out and are loose in the bag. Also, my Khail Box Navy switch is broke. When you actuate it, it does not pop back up.
randomfrankp
Same thing here, this should have been packed better
So this is 48.74 USD shipped to me on July 3rd hopefully, while it is 49 USD with free shipping on KBDFANS site shipping right away... hmmm... Link: https://kbdfans.cn/products/kbdfans-super-swithes-tester-60-switches-all-in-one Oh and also you can get a 2 USD discount when using the code: ILOVEKBDFANS, so it goes down to 47 USD.
talkaplan4474
I noticed this as well, but shipping was only $3.75 for me, so I still saved $3-4. I also have had good experiences with dealing with massdrop support before if anything went wrong, so I went for it despite having to wait two months. I am in no rush to buy or build a new mechanical keyboard so I can wait. However, I do think it should be a better deal given the fact we have to wait 2 whole month for just a few dollars off msrp.
