I have seen a lot of commentary on ink and this pen. When I bought it, I wanted to be able to use a fraud-resistant ink, but I found that my ink was drying quickly and the ball would squeak or, ugh, stop rolling altogether.
The magic answer? The Polar ink line from Noodler’s, where some (if not all) colors have a lubricant added. I know Polar Blue does. This pen has become an EDC pen in my briefcase, and I can pull it out without a second thought to write a check or write on something where my fountain pen is not going to work (like my hand or a cheap napkin).

JKnepperI've found that Parker Quink and cheap Sheaffer ink flow well through my Super5. I've also used Pelikan, Lamy, J. Herbin, and some generic cartridges from Ebay. The generic cartridges are hit and miss. My favorite inks in my pen are Noodler's Kung Te-Cheng and Polar Purple.
