Does anyone know the differences in these needle types? It says one is for sergers with coverstitch capabilities. Does that mean it has a different shape? My serger takes universal needles but it is also a coverstitch machine. My serger manual does not specify a needle type, just size. Confusing.

UtahI found the needle type listed in the back of my Bernina serger guide under Technical Specs. It's a serger/coverstitch combo. It takes the H series needles. I think that cover stitch is happier with a longer needle, that is, a serger needle. Sewing machine needles will work in my serger, but the added length of a serger keeps the coverstitch happy.
