Really good headphones for under $100. Not very portable - doesn't fold or collapse. Can be sibilant depending on the amp impedance. Removable cable for this price is nice. 2 3.5"mm cables plus 1/4" adapter included. I own 5 different sets of Superlux cans, all are phenomenal values for the asking price. Keep in mind that these can be bested for $100 or more.

mliuI was planning on getting the ATH-AD500's which are about 80 bucks, but after seeing this and the reviews, I've changed my mind towards these ones. Do you have any recommendations on what to go for?

P.4NDAHi P4ANDA, have these, and they are great if you like treble and clear sound. With these you certainly need to have an amp, so you can drive them, and you need replacement pads, because the pads are horrible, so keep that into account! You can also take a look at the takstar 2050, which are also open, and have great pads. (I have the takstar pro 80, and they are as great!) That comes around the same price, but the build quality is better. (more metal, less cheap feeling plastics)

P.4NDAAt sub $100, I'd say either HD668B, Takstar HI2050 (or Pro 80 which are their closed version) or AD500X. They're all solid for their respective prices but from what I've researched: HD668B seems to take it on soundstage (nice for gaming), 2050 takes it on out-of-the-box comfort and versatility, while 500X takes it on sound quality. I'm awaiting the second of the three (2050).

NetherlandsAt 56 Ohms, I wouldn't say you "certainly need to have an amp" to drive the HD668B. Amps never hurt but many devices should push them fine without one.

MassEDUThat is true, but especially with this headphone the volume is lower than headphones with a higher impedance. Don't know why, I compared it with the 2050 and the koss ksc 75

NetherlandsDefinitely inefficient. Does not need an amp, but benefits from one. Most devices can power this to listenable levels, but some will want a slight boost in volume than that.
