My reply to the odd response from Massdrop Customer Service when I inquired as to why vendor fulfillment was over a month away from drop completion:
"…And the vendor seems to be sitting on your (our) (my) money. I particularly like the phrase: "We are unable to cancel your order at this time since the order has already been placed to the vendor and the funds have been captured."
"Captured?" What's next for my money? Interrogation? torture? I think "detainment" is already in process.
I have been through severals small drops now, and I can tell you that I am now so glad I didn’t decide to join something like the DXRacer Office Chair drop after all.
Just imagine giving half-a-large to some stranger who then gives it to another stranger (minus a couple yards, I'm sure, for Massdrop baksheesh). And the vendor (just who, again? Oh. I see...) gives it a couple of weeks to simmer in their account before scraping through what's left of their full-retail-stock-and-packaging and submitting what're probably returns or seconds for glacially-slow delivery to the drop-ees, since those idiots will probably accept any level of quality, condition or delivery because they really have no recourse for return/cancellation/refund to speak of.
Whew. Now I think I'll tell you how I *really* feel. Nah. Easier and better just to close the wallet, unsubscribe, look elsewhere, buy from someone who at least understands the time-honored relationship between monies given and prompt, tangible, traceable fulfillment received."

ChiliadHey man,
I'm the vendor for this drop, but I don't quite understand what you're trying to say. I'd be happy to answer if you could rephrase what you are asking. Are you a participant in the most recent drop, or the first one?

VistinationI think he is trying to say it takes a long time to make them from the payment date and hence twisted panties... But he's just being a douche so don't dignify him with your time.

VistinationVistination -- I salute you for having the professionalism and courtesy to reply despite my somewhat overheated -- but I feel quite justified -- comment -- and the response of guy below. (I have the feeling he spent the evening trying to find a forum where he could write the word, "douche.") I AM concerned by why it would take over a month from drop completion to shipment, which would then take perhaps a week or so longer. In this day and time, 6 wks fulfillment on an order is truly slow.

ChiliadHey,
Pretty much all drops have some amount of lead time. It isn't exactly like ordering off of Amazon where a reseller already has the product on hand and ready to ship within a day. Here, you commit to buying a product, and then the group order is placed with the manufacturer themselves to get a better wholesale price. A manufacturer actually has to manufacturer the products, then ship it to Massdrop for fulfillment.
Hopefully that explained your question.
