I plugged these in yesterday, and I just realized I too have the weird radio station interference on them. Really pathetic shielding. Trying to decide if I should buy new cables and ferrite filters like someone else suggested or just return them. By the time I fix these, they might not be a good deal anymore.
Do they not come in black?
I'd love to buy these... Why can't you ship to Canada? :(
Here's my review of these:

To sum it up, they are worth every penny, and sound sweeeeet.
US address only... Feels bad man. :(
I bought these a while back and these systems were being manufactured with a known defect for a while. There can be a persistent hum from the speakers that doesn't go away. Dealing with HiVi to get it fixed is next to impossible because they have zero functional customer service in the states. The company I bought them from Audio Insider was the only dealer in the US at the time (3 years ago or so) and he "repaired" them by not doing anything and just sent them back. It took several times of sending them back and forth before he actually upgraded the internal components and fixed the hum. Super shady dealer (he's since changed his name to Chane Music Cinema but it's still him) and HiVi wasn't much better in dealing with them.

Today we're sending a $30 volume control free of charge to a Canadian Massdrop customer whose 2015 product is fifteen months out of warranty. We typically cover products not just for the warranty term but for as long as we're supported with parts. In some cases this is years beyond original warranty. As a consumer product the M10's in-field service record is also excellent, with only about one half of one percent of their many thousands of owners requesting service. Of those, about a third of all returns prove to be actually flawless (as just about any service manager for consumer products will report). After thorough re-testing, if a warranty station finds there's nothing that needs to be done and can be done, they are returned. Customers generally never find issue again.
If there is any doubt that they may present a problem in the field, however, warranty allows for complete replacement or electronics-only replacement at the station's discretion and within the warranty terms expressed at time of purchase.
We've been serving hundreds of Massdrop customers like this for years and now that we're able to pass on by far the lowest prices for these items in their history, the value is even higher. We love Massdrop customers.

Thank you for the response. I am not sure if I will pick these up this go around, but my hesitation is not due to the borderline creepy recurring comments by a certain individual.
I ordered a TEAC CR-H101 CD Receiver. I'm not a tech head but will these speakers work with an amp with a 4 ohm output class D amplifier? Thanks for any input.

Thanks. That makes sense.
Oh lol yeah that I totally didn't think of ūü§£
Booooh! US only booh!
I too am disappointed MD won't ship to Canada.
After a long time, the drop is active but doesn't ship to India.
Disappointed no shipping to Canada :[ I'd even pay for shipping just to join the drop sigh
wow can't believe these are still coming back on massdrop. bought these for my girlfriend last year and we ended up moving in together--they still act as our main speaker system for the living room/projector. It's way too big a space for what they're designed for, but they're still doing a bang-up job. Volume-wise they'll easily fill up the room without distortion and don't sound half bad. (That's kind of an understatement--they will definitely be running too loud at around 50% on the knob) I'm not gonna say "amazing" or "great" because I used to run full sized speakers out of a big receiver when I lived in the suburbs. These do have fantastic shape and detail for the layperson. More pleasing than analytical but I wouldn't go as far as to say "warm". Gonna be above and beyond what most people are accustomed to. Way better than any Altec Lansing or Klipsch stuff you'll buy in this price range, that's for sure. $90 used to be a crazy steal but it looks like they're coming back to the market? I see them on Amazon. Used to really have to hunt for these, they were not in stock anywhere for a few years.

Ditto on the radio/interference stuff but I live in the middle of Brooklyn and it's generally very faint, only hear it sometimes when I work from home in the middle of the day. If it was sitting on your desk it'd probably be a different story--but this is true of even higher end monitors. I worked in a professional Post-Production house and those guys would just wrap the near-field monitors at their editing bays in black-wrap foil to try and stop the interference. Good times.
The only thing that ain't so great about using your internally powered 2.1 speaker system for your PS4/projector setup is..... No remote. So yeah. That still feels pretty collegy. Look at the shelf though! How am I ever gonna fit a receiver in there? Answer. I'm not. I'll take the exercise I guess.

If you scroll down a few responses you find my solution to the hum/radio interference. Very easy and very cheap.

I've posted our *actual* service policy and record at least a few times before - it is at least as solid and responsive as the industry offers - and with it in mind I do not disagree with you. However, in 35 years I've consciously made one exception to it. If you'd like the back-story, please reach me offline. I'm more than happy to cover all points.
Wow man. Do you have any professionalism in you AT ALL? I would never buy anything from you, or anything from anywhere where I had to deal with you for service. If this guy is truly slandering you, like you claim, and this is all lies on his part. Then you would have taken him to court already to make him stop. Instead,(since the truth hurts), of accepting the fact that you screwed the guy over and he's upset. Instead of trying to make it right. You get on a public forum and fight with him like a child (or a President). What good could come out of doing that? None that I can see. Plenty bad though. Unbelievable! SMH!!! And yes I fully believe you screwed the guy, and didn't fix his product right. FULLY!
Bought these from a store in a nearby city and for their price they've got a lot of clarity as in no muddyness and light but punchy bass that will not overtake the rest of what you are listening to. The only downside I have had so far is whenever my phone is about to get a call or message the "DU-DUDU-DU-DUDUDUU" interference comes up but is easily solved by just not having my phone close to the speakers. They are very small and it is recommended that you have the subwoofer on the desk or same level as the speakers to get the most out of them. Good for music, great for movies and casual gaming.
These are great, bought them a while ago. Just be warned that they don't have great shielding on the drivers. I now live close to a radio station and can't use these anymore because the interference is so bad
I’ve had a pair of these for since 2010. Still kicking still sound amazing. Highly recommended.
Anybody know how these compare to the Klipsch R-14M drop?
Username931235324
Well I can tell you that these sound comparable to my Klipsch R-15PMs + the k100-sw sub. The K100-SW has alot more bass extension though if you are doing critical listening. But for movies,TV and Spotify through your TV, etc these are great.
I haven't done near-field listening to either set of speakers though as I use them for my TV's.
I truly enjoy these speakers. Definetly solid in my opinion!

Loving mine too! My biggest complaint is the bright light around the volume, otherwise its great!
Jimster480
Quite bright. Can be used as a lamp HA.
Am I the rare few that have none of these problems? lol for me they are a great purchase. give off nice noise for small spaces. and they didnt hurt the pockets for the quality it produces.
So I purchased these speakers for my wife's office space. Upon initial setup in our house everything seemed fine, but upon setup in her office space she was getting some kind of mysterious background noise (even with no audio source connected). Further investigation proved it to be radio signal from a local station coming through the speakers (both while on with no audio source and in the background during audio playback). A little consultation with Dr. Google, it seems the internal grounding in these in none too good.
Solution: Ferrite core noise filters on the power strip, the primary power cable, both speaker cables, and a new Fospower 3.5mm to RCA input cable. Now no background noise.

Could you add a bit more info to this, maybe even pictures? I'm super interested in this mod. Thanks!
PixelFruitloops
I'm not sure how much more I can explain. If you go on amazon and search for " Ferrite core noise filters" you will have a ton of options, almost all will suffice. get a pack with multiple sizes. The filters just snap around the cables. Start at the wall outlet and place a filter after every time the electricity's path encounters a new component (powerstrip, speaker amp, ect.) Once every cord with voltage has a filter, you're done. I also just upgraded the 3.5mm to split RCA cable to a Fospower cord. It has better shielding and just is an overall higher quality cord. I may upgrade it again to an Audioquest cable.
I'm selling these if anyone is interested. Please contact me at cac7491@gmail.com. Very nice. No wear.
about ¥280($43 usd) in any retail stores in Guangzhou( manufacturer's location), with taobao's international shipping around $70usd shipped, lets forget about the quality, just wanna ask what bargains?? what 42%off ??

HIV speakers? LOL. Who would name their product like that?

Well its a Mimic of Hi-Fi....
Jimster480
Thanks for the tip.
Don't buy these unless you want to pickup a random radio station 24/7 on the speakers.
Especially bad if you live in an apartment or dorm.

I fixed my issue, I posted about it it on here, very easy, very cheap to do.

I don't have the hum anymore, but if it happens again I'll use your solution. Thanks.
I bough these a few months back and the subwoofer box receiver went out and only the left channel now works who do I contact to get it fixed or replaced. Do these come with warranty when buying from mass drop
No remote, no deal!
Shipping to EU?
I got this system a little more than a year ago when the drop was $100. For the $75 price, I'd be all over these if I didn't already have a set. The sound is pretty good, balanced in the mid-range. The subwoofer isn't a true sub, but can thump when its turned up. Also, the white face has a subtle, but nice flake paint. For the complaints, they are mostly nitpicky. I don't have the buzzing that people are talking about, but I can confirm the LED power light on the knob is super bright. Unbearably so when turning off lights for bed. Need to reach over or around to turn the power off in the back. Also, there was some "rubbing" when turning the knob. Turns out it was just some extra plastic from the injection molding process, but 10 seconds of filing it down is sufficient. Also, I wish the cables between the speakers was an extra foot longer. They have just enough length to fit on the outside of my dual 24" monitor setup, but the cables are almost taut. Happy 'Dropping!
This is a great system! Unfortunately there is no reason to get it on MassDrop since its the same price on Amazon (and if you have a store card you get 5% off on top of that) with free shipping on Prime.
I have a set in my room and just recommended it to my staff member who asked me!

thanks for the Amazon tip...
