CeteaI'm not very well educated on audio so forgive me if this is a stupid question but, I would have to buy a stereo receiver for this right? And if so what is a cheaper one you would recommend

vox_divinusI personally think that they are really good for the price they get really loud have excellent range and are pretty crisp. I'm more of a novice audiophile so definitely do your reading on it. I would buy them again for sure. They compare well with my ATH-m50s.

CherryMXRGBI've run them off my mobo and my phone and they have sounded good. I'm picking up a DAC/Amp which I plan on using with them and the akg 7xxs. I can't really tell you though since I've only ever used my motherboard and phone. Personally I think they sound good but I bet they could do more when paired with a good sound card.

CherryMXRGBThey're self-powered. They connect to a device's standard 3.5mm stereo output or to conventional stereo RCA jacks.

CherryMXRGBThey will sound great, especially considering the price, but as always, if you have a dedicated DAC unit to send the signal their way, they'll sound all the better. These are self powered so you don't need an amp. Just a good old fashioned high impedance line level output.

CeteaSorry, I didn't see that you had replied to that exact question. I guess that's what I get for skimming through the conversation and replying halfway through instead of reading each post...

JonLaneI participated in this drop and expect to enjoy this setup once received. I was looking to a couple different dac/amp setups from Monoprice. Are you able to let me know if I would encounter any issues with connecting these speakers to this - https://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=11567
or this - https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13194

confedLooks to me like they should both work as they both have RCA outputs on them.

Cetea I went with an alternately branded version of the first link. Was able to save about $15-20 by doing that. Should be getting the speakers today. Appreciate your comment. Thanks.
