TheSkeletonI'm only drinking and or making cold drip coffee now. So much better tasting and flavor versus hot brewed, at least for me. I also only use maple syrup for sweetness with rice milk added. But good on you for going hard into it. :D have fun man.
TheSkeletonI highly recommend an Aeropress with a metal filter. Better, faster, and easier to clean than a French press, which is what I used to use.
I use the metal filter for taste, but it also results in zero grounds in my cup. I have been using the same Kaffeologie S filter for the last 5 years and it still looks like it has lots of life left, but there are dozens of filter manufacturers out there. Or, the Aeropress comes with 350 paper filters if you decide you prefer paper.
TheSkeletonI'm old school and favor pour over. I use a chemex style carafe with a metal and a paper filter. Why? Cleanup is a snap, using less water, and the filter removes the caffeinol which can adversely affect cholesterol.
yanfaliI've heard that about caffeinol and cholesterol, but I prefer the taste with the oils that are absorbed by the paper filters - perhaps I like the taste of caffeinol?? Regarding minimal water usage, if Aeropress is not the winner it is at least tied with Chemex.
BrainFlushThanks so much for the links! I am keeping my wallet out of reach since I have over $500 in custom keycap orders still in process (some since 1/2017!), but I love to see the creativity of the designs. And yes, I really have to bring myself under control sometimes, since of course I know where the key is. Sometimes I want to thank Massdrop for all the delays - just kidding. It would be cool to meet some of the designers some day - not kidding.
