This cookware has a layer of stainless on the inside and outside and 3 layers of aluminum in between. One scratch and the toxic aluminum properties are leaching into your food. You can read about it here: https://www.swissdiamond.com/premium-clad
I got these on the last drop. They work well on induction and ceramic cooktops. I cook a lot of fudge and stuff in the small sauce pan, and it’s heavy enough to not burn the sugar to the bottom. I’ve also used the fry pans for steaks and fish without issue.
I managed to scratch the bottom of one of the pots with an electric mixer that got a bit out of control, but being lazy and stirring with a metal spoon hasn’t done any damage yet.
The only issue I had was with the packaging. The rim on one of the lids was a bit squished in transit, and water gets in there now. Luckily it was the big lid, which i don’t use much.
Can anyone comment on the reputation of Swiss Diamond and whether or not these are "buy it for life" quality items? I can find reviews of their non-stick stuff, but even those seem to be hit or miss for some people. Partially trying to convince the wife it's worth $450.
menace101in the same boat right now and after hours and hours of searching i just couldn't find anything. not even an amazon product review. i feel like it's worth but aaaaaahhhhhhh. it'd be great if more people reviewed this set/Swiss Diamond products.
I was going to ask if anyone knew if the handles were solid or hollow.
However, their customer service responded almost instantaneously. OK, 19 minutes.
"The handles on the Premium Clad cookware are solid."
They also gave me a 30% off code. Though that still doesn't come close to this drop.
And that $1,200 retail is a little ... well bullshit. Though Amazon does that too ... not that anyone has ever bought through there, or at least never left a review. Swiss Diamond sells this set on their own site for $888.95 with no mention of what an "amazing" deal they are giving you.
