As rare as it is beautiful, this Taccia fountain pen pays homage to the historic city of Wajima, Japan. Located in Ishikawa Prefecture, the city is known for its lacquerware, called Wajima-nuri, made using unique techniques that date back to the 14th century Read More
There are only 25 pieces and yet they struggle to sell them, I wonder why is that...
I don't think there are lots of people who want a pen that is impractical to write with....seriously, caligraphy pens are better daily writers than these.
They are pretty though I have to mention.
yguoRegardless whether a $800 pen qualifies for a "collectible" (maybe yes from its number of production), that doesn't justifies a terrible anti-functional design of it. Even admitting it is a collector's pen, it is a pen first before it can be collected. Pelikan, montblanc and many other prestigious manufacturers sell way more expensive pens that can be collected, and easily used.
Hi All,

3 strikes. You're out.
What's worse is they recognized some of this, because of the stupid sleeve. And this could've been gorgeous...if they hadn't plumped it up so much it reminds me of a Butterball turkey.
And yeah...even then, Nakaya offers more interesting AND more usable shapes. And many more color options. So you can have a nice little work of art in your hand, and actually *use* it.
Looking at the pictures, it's a broad. My guess is they are all broad.
I get the sense that this pen isn't designed to be used, but is more designed to be a collector item, something to show off in a display case.
I like the concept, if it was better designed in the grip area, I'd buy it. I have a couple $500+ pens, but I want to write with them, not just look at them.
