Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Board came out looking great. As I mentioned before, the case is the real highlight of this keyboard in my opinion. For the cost you are getting a very nice case! The angles are very reminiscent of Duck boards in a lot of ways.
Editing the layout was relatively easy. The online tool can be found here: http://123.57.250.164:3000/tada68 Most people will want to select "English" from the drop-down menu on the bottom right hand side of the page.
The included stabs were also just fine. I've used it heavily for a week or two now without any issues. I did lube them slightly when I installed them, as I would any stabs, but no complaints here .
All in all, for the price, really impressive little custom!
