Any update on the shipping date for this? My order says estimated ship date is today (August 16th), but I don't see any change in status or email confirmation of shipping.

brockrMine arrived the day after I posted the above (and my shipping notification a couple of days later!). I was really enjoying the lens, but unfortunately on day 5 it stopped focusing--it won't focus to infinity, or anywhere near it, in automatic or manual mode; it only focuses at very short distances. I guess I'll try to get it replaced or repaired now.

I had the G1 version of this lens and it was capable of some nice captures (Canon adapted on Sony A7)

So when it says that a tamron 6-year warranty is included, does that mean this is a USA lens with factory warranty in U.S., and not a gray market item?

Will this lens work with my Nikon 2x tele converter? Will I still get auto focus and vibration canceling? I think you lose auto focus when not using a Nikon Lens with a Nikon tile converter.

marksxyzYou can use it, but this lens is not terribly fast. Your starting aperture will be around f8 or f9. You will need a LOT of light to use it effectively. I'm not sure about how the metering and focus will work.

remlapMine came entirely in retail packaging and looked unopened. The overview also quotes Tamron's 6 year warranty.

In previous Tamron discussions there were questions about return policies IF the shipped lens had problems. I don't recall if that was ever resolved. Does anyone know what the return policy is?

Fun lens. I have the G1 version; paid about $1,200 for it when they first came out. Unless you can find a better one, this is a good deal.
