Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?

I've not used either so take this for just some casual observations. I didn't go line by line but the two main feature differences I noticed were: - The TASCAM can be powered by DC, not just USB. The Focusrite is only USB, and some reviews have noted that when using two phantom powered mics it doesn't seem like the Focusrite has enough power. - TASCAM supports MIDI devices. The Focusrite 2x2 does not, you have to step up to their 2x4 model to get MIDI support.
