Wow, this thing really misses the boat for me. Here's what I want: USB out. That's a must so I can rip CDs. Secondly, a phono preamp so I can rip vinyl. I don't know what Teac was thinking when they came up with this one. Count me out.

BigCabDaddyIt seems like this thing is more like a dac/receiver, rather than just a CD drive. If you need to rip CDs, buy a regular USB CD/DVD drive from amazon for $20 and save some money :D

BigCabDaddyIt's not built for that market. They expect you to rip with your computer and you need to spend more for any phono input but it's just too underpowered for $300. There are a lot of receivers that will give you what you want fore this price.

iatsbohdanYeah, that'll work. My receiver has the phono pre-amp and I've got an audio interface that would do for a crude phono rip.

BigCabDaddyI think allowing this thing to function as a CD data drive would have amounted to feature creep, and been a severe mistake.

BigCabDaddyWow, this thing really misses the boat for me. Here's what I want: a red skidoo with pontoons so I can use it both in the summer on the lake, and winter on the snow. I don't know what Teac was thinking when they came up with this one. Count me out.
