I'm looking for a turntable under $200. I have a few records i want to play. I had one of those terrible crossly brief case record players, and it destroyed 3 records and only skipped. I just need something that will do the job. I don't know anything about turntables at all, so something fairly easy to get into would be helpful. Thanks!!

KillamAudio Technica LP-60. It's sells for $99, obviously not the holy grail but it gets the job done. It's not modular but you can change the stylus.....you'll probably get a better record player before that happens. Fully automatic and has preamp. That and a spin clean is less than $200. Boom
