Wished I saw this earlier, these things are in the $650-700CDN here in Canada (we get screwed on pricing but did manage to find one with a pricing error at $550CDN). Even after the exchange difference, this price is pretty decent, in fact, great bang for the buck.
Setup I have here is a Raspberry Pi running Volumio, USB to the UD-301, variable output to the main inputs on a used Yamaha DSP-A1 (bypassing everything on the amp) with a pair of Focal 719s. Sound's much better than using the built in DAC on the A1 which is comparable to a 90's CD player.

Tanner74Hi, I have a teac ud-301 connected via USB to a laptop running win 8.1 pro. To do that I had to install teac's driver. I want to replace the laptop with a raspberry pi. Could you explain how you connected the dac to the raspi? Didn't the 301 require the raspi to have specific (or possibly asio?) drivers? thanks

f.caviThe support for the teac (and other USB DACs) works out of the box with Volumio. Volumio images can be found here: https://volumio.org/
