MeringoCurrently 349+19.25 shipping, which is closer to 360 usd, which isn't much a drop from 399. Don't get me wrong, it's not an awful deal, but it's hardly a huge price drop either, compared to let's say the Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00, which is one hell of a deal.

GenkakuzaiIt's going to be 319.99 plus 9.50 shipping to the U.S. which is a substantial savings in my humble opinion.

UzuzuYeah bruh that's totally what I was saying wasn't it. 399-360=70, good to know.

Nope, didn't add tax on either side, and the specific one I found had free shipping at the time.

GenkakuzaiUzuzu meant that 399-(319.99+9.5)=69.51. Am I right? You may not choose it due to shipping. But for me, 399-(319.99+37)=42.01. That's 10.5 percent off. Taking import duty and taxes into account, I may save 42.01*1.13=47.47usd. Still a bargain, right? At similar prices, only second hands are available.

StanleyChoMight wanna check my original calculation, when the price hadn't dropped to the place where its at now, which is what I was comparing it with. And as I stated in that original post, I'm still not saying it's a terrible bargain, just that it wasn't particularly impressive at its inception, so to speak. It's better now, clearly, than it was when I actually made that post.

GenkakuzaiOK. We may have committed at the lowest price instead of joining the drop. You don't have to purchase it before it reaches the lowest price.

UzuzuYeah like totally bruh. Super new. Never ever heard of Massdrop before. You started out with a false claim, building straw men, aka trying to pretend I wrote something I clearly did not. Good luck with that. I'll forgive you.

GenkakuzaiHis point was against something you didn't say because you missed the correct perspective on how to identify when a deal is worth getting. He tried to teach you how to work the site, but you seem more intent on proving yourself right than learning. Maybe it's because you are not new and being sarcastic?
Just in case you are new, there is a feature on Massdrop that allows you to join the drop only if the lowest price is reached. The link is just below the 'Purchase' button on every active drop.
If you are comparing prices elsewhere and only the lowest price on MD makes sense for you, use the commit feature instead of joining the drop at a higher price than you like. Generally you'd be able to get the item sooner than MD would deliver it if you purchase elsewhere, even when ordering after the end of a drop, so there's really no harm in using the commit option for something you were planning to buy anyway and are willing to wait a bit for a possible discount on.
In other words, always compare only the lowest price on massdrop when shopping around.

GenkakuzaiI actually bought it for $366.66 just last week on Amazon, so it seems the price has went up a little since then.
It's a very nice DAC, looks great and the sound is phenomenal for the price. It's almost fully metal, and quite heavy for its size. I tried an SMSL Sanskrit Pro DAC before, and the TEAC sounds so much better than that.
