Can anyone with the original TEC and the knock off chinese version tell us their feeling about one compared to the other?

brucknerI wouldn't call them Chinese knockoffs. They are likely out of the same factory and are sold for a premium by TEC. The ones I got are identical minus the clip; same metal, finish and exact design. There are a few Chinese versions though, so just be keen.

obiwankenobiSorry, but that is not correct. Our clips are fabricated with the "TEC" letters stamped on the back as part of the punching process so the Chinese knock-offs are fabricated from different tooling. They absolutely copied our design, down to every dimension. Which I think is funny, because they could have changed it slightly and at least not LOOKED like a blatant copy. Regarding the metal composition and spring temper, I doubt they are the same. You assume we have these fabricated in China...

TECENGThank you for the clarification and I apologize for assuming TEC clips were fabricated in China. Where are yours fabricated?

obiwankenobiNo worries, just wanted to clarify there is a distince difference. And really, we don't mind if people buy the knock-offs, it's their choice. As long as they know there is a difference.
Our clips are made in the US, then sent to our Tucson Arizona facility for finishing in-house. Then they are cleaned and packaged, and fulfillment is also performed in Tucson.
