Do you people think you are Batman or something? Even if this hardware would support your weight, are you going to climb up the skinny piece of paracord that will fit through the loop on it? Get a grip.

tyler555This has nothing to do w/ load capacity. Even if your paracord supported 1 Ton, how would you climb such a thin line? Do you have very tiny hands?

shamamdo you not understand how a self belay system works? You can tie a quick handle that slides up (prusik knot is the term), but tightens up when you hold onto it so you don't have to worry about grip much.

this but less complicated is basically the concept. It's not all that difficult, and could be done with a few carabiners, and some paracord. granted that link is rapelling, but it's the same concept.

shamamthat said, this would be totally not recommended, as para-cord can easily be cut, and will probably fray on the attachment point on the grapple. It could be done, but is totally not something you would want to do unless it was an emergency. However other options could be to use climbing rope, and attach it to the grapple with steel cable.

shamami agree shamam, the average joe on the street wouldn't be able to climb a 1 inch dia rope, now picking your keys up from a grated drain or something similar is more real, and prob more likely.

tyler555550 paracord only supports at 110 pounds. 500 pounds is the breaking weight not the working load weight.
