Why is this red & black? I can't find any record of the authentic product coming in anything but plain stainless.

beaconterraoneThis is a special edition we created for those who want more contrasting colors for easier spotting when in use. Depending upon the surroundings (a tree for example) it would be easier to spot this version than the plain aluminum version. BTW, there was never a stainless version, only clear anodized aluminum.
