I really wish Tech Pro would give us recordings done on these mics, because without those, there's really no way to know for sure what these sound like, and it could just be a waste of money. Also, this has been mentioned earlier in this thread by GhettoDrank (top of p2) with no reply so.... What's up?

jjusto223he told me that they might send him some sound clips but that was a couple of days ago. Only thing keeping me from buying this.

jjusto223As I stated before, this product was released exclusively on Massdrop before hitting the open pro audio market. That being said, there are at present no reviews or sound tests to be had. I did reach out to Technical Pro and they said they would see what they could do. I cannot rush them unfortunately and I am awaiting a further follow-up.
However, I would like to mention that no brand, no matter how loved or lauded by the public, makes perfect products. At some point, usual more than once, they will make a bad product or two. Often time, brands get "labelled" as less than or poor in quality based on one product, even though this is not indicative of their entire line. Technical Pro makes many fine products, there are more than enough people to sing their praises. And there are more than enough nay-sayers as well.
I saw and inspected the samples upon arrival myself. Had I thought them so poor in quality to have not wanted to use them myself, I would not have offered them to the community. I respect everyone's opinions and realize mine is just one of many. I wish I had time to try, test, record and fiddle with every piece of gear we drop or consider dropping. Alas, time constrains forbid it and we do the best we can.
I firmly believe you will be surprised with the quality of the mic packs and will make good use of the accessories regardless. I hope my answer was helpful and please feel free to post any further questions.

SeanReidThanks for your reply! Your words are reassuring. The only reason I was so heavily doubting this drop is because it seems to good to be true! Enough so that when I couldn't find any information elsewhere, my doubts were amplified. But if you believe I'll be surprised by the quality of these products, then I'll trust in your judgments. And when I receive and configure mine, I may even post links of recordings on SoundCloud or something, just to make them avalible if they aren't by then.

GryphonAI'm going to be using it for similar purposes, and the only major difference would be how you use it. USB is a plug and go, and gives good quality. XLR you would need to have a mixer to plug the mic into to power it, and it may give a slightly higher quality over USB but nothing that would be very noticble.

GryphonAIf you get an XLR you'll have to get a mix amp or an audio interface to plug into. I made that mistake of an XLR cable and now had to pay for an interface which a cheaper one on amazon was $80. I considered this mic but without sound clips I just couldn't commit even though the price is good. I'm still considering returning the interface and mic and just buying the cheaper USB one since I doubt that the other will provide such a difference in my stream quality.

HollyHThere are lots of DACS on drop here that take XLR, but your right. For streaming you wouldn't notice a huge leap in quality.

HollyHYou can get it, I'm assuming the one you're talking about is the Alesis Multimix 4 USB Mixer, on Ebay for like $50 if money is a concern, so it's not as easy as getting the USB one, but you can get a better product, if only nominally so, in the long run.

GryphonAYou'd also have to spend some extra money if you don't get the USB version. And through USB it seems like the best solution as you have full control over the mic off the computer
