New drop user here. Do you know if the estimate ship date of 12/27 is accurate?

I got a Technivorm about 15 years ago and besides replacing a carafe or two it's been perfect. I did disable the feature that stops the water exiting the basket after a few mishaps. It's a feature I never used.

DrCherryI too have had one of these for over 15 years, still makes great coffee everyday. Mine is still all original, including the carafe, but I'm starting to think about picking up a backup just in case.

Might just go for it. Seems like a good way to try Technivorm. This of course is likely an unpopular model, hence it’s here for $37 less than currently on Amazon. Can anybody share how the warranty works — will the manufacturer honor it?
justwatchinThe warranty is covered. These machines are coming direct from Technivorm.

I received this make about a month ago - love it BUT have a concern with the temp of freshly brewed pot. The coffee is only "warm" when it finishes brewing. I have to place my cup in the microwave for 30 secs to get it hotter. I know the freshly brewed pot is "below the brewing spec temps" (195 - 205 degrees) because the hot plate warmer "keeps the coffee at 185 degrees." When I go for my second cup, it is much hotter than the 1st cup that is freshly brewed. This makes me think my "brew temp" is way below 185 degrees, maybe only 160 degrees? This is why I always have to "shock the cup for 30 sec" in my microwave - to heat the coffee to the temp that my 2nd cup usually is after sitting on the hot plate for 20 mins or so. Is there a way to "turn up the heat" when it brews or should I seek a replacement from Drop or manufacturer?

This is a problem caused by the type of water you are using. More than likely you have damaged the heating element already.

Nightf0xxIm using filtered water and I de calcify every other month. In the intervening months I run the blue cleaning agent. I may be exaggerating the temperature issue. Its not cold, but its not McDonald’s scalding hot either.

I missed this one, but I clicked on Requested, so hopefully I will get a 2nd chance. Has anyone here had this happen then was able to buy it later?

The "s" in the model name is for small coffee volume (only 32 oz). I would bite on the larger glass or thermal option.

I have the other model with the stainless carafe that's 5+ years but still running strong. But can attest to the build quality and improvement to the taste of the coffee. This can be attributed to the fact that Technivorm heats to the ideal temperature for flavor extraction. Would totally jump on this price if I needed a new machine even with the glass carafe. I drink so much coffee that it rarely has time to sit and get cold. FWIW, the stainless carafe has it's own drawback and that is the seal. No matter how much you tighten it still loses temperature and occasionally has a low pitch squeal as pressure is released. Some have found replacing it with a gasket to do the trick. Just FYI. Technivorm may have corrected this in the newer models.

I'll wait for the KBG or KBT drop. Hopefully that's coming.

CFDBCFDB, can you make a half pot with this model and not affect the coffee flavor?

csahlyes, the fliter basket has three settings. Closed, half open, and full open. For smaller brew volume set the the fliter basket to half open and use the required amount of coffee for the volume of water.
